Evolving the format: Introducing Methodical Podcast
This is the transcript of an episode of the Methodical Podcast.
Hey everyone, welcome back to Methodical!
It's been a while since I recorded my latest video for this format, and a few things have changed. Notably, as you can see — or should I say, as you can NOT see — I’ve decided to turn Methodical into an audio-only format. So before we move on to the next episode — Episode 2, which will be about phone and technology addiction — I’d like to share the story behind this choice... consider this a transitional episode.
First of all, I’ve always seen Methodical as an experiment. And the whole point of this experiment is to spread awareness about the many ways time can slip away from us, mostly because of technology.
Having already made videos in the past (about 4–5 years ago), I thought this would be the best way to spread this awareness. BUT, it turns out, things change over the years, and I am no exception: even though I believe I made some decent progress from Episode 0 to Episode 1, I found the process of shooting videos increasingly stressful.
As a result, while I was working on Episode 2, I realised it just wasn’t making me happy, so I decided to stop. If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably seen my stories where I talk about this.
This is not a choice I've made lightly. I know that being present in a video is likely more impactful than a podcast. But at the same time, I’m relieved that, given our increasingly busy lives, podcasts are becoming a more dominant and accessible format.
So here we are. From now on, Methodical will be a podcast. You won’t see me, but you will hear me.
And to celebrate this change, I’m happy to announce that you’ll now be able to listen to Methodical not only on YouTube, but also on Spotify. Plus, thanks to the help of AI, all episodes will be transcribed and available on my blog a few days after publication, in case you’d prefer to read them instead.
Thank you for listening to this transitional episode of Methodical! If you want to support me, don’t forget to like and subscribe on YouTube, follow on Spotify, and register for the Methodical newsletter at silvestri.gg/methodical to gain exclusive access to future free and limited content.
