Bitwarden

Bitwarden

A good open source, free password manager.

Password Managers

What I like about it

Before I switched to 1Password, I chose Bitwarden because it’s completely free, plus the fact that it’s Open Source means that at least its code can be publicly verified, and therefore you know how your data is used. For what it offers, it’s an absolutely decent app that you should try if you don’t want to invest money in a Password Manager.

What I don't like about it

Even though the design of the phone app was updated right after I abandoned it, I feel like Bitwarden still isn’t at its best in terms of UI and, most importantly, speed. I immedaitely noticed this when I tried other password managers. For example, opening Bitwarden’s prompt on iOS to autofill your username and password takes about 2 seconds more for me compared to other password managers.

Bitwarden is an alternative to
