How I select the tools I work with
The tools you see listed under the tools page have all been used by me at least for a few weeks. I don't list tools that I haven't had the chance to test in real-world scenarios.
When I choose a tool, I give the utmost importance to UX and UI, however I exclude those that have only a nice design but don't work well.
Only tools that I use daily get the green checkmark, as they are what I believe to be the best in class according to my experience as a user and a developer. The checkmark is removed as soon as I stop using them - usually because I've found something better.
How I rate my tools
- 1 star: I use it for strict necessity. If I could, I wouldn't use it.
- 2 stars: It's ok overall, but I don't love using it.
- 3 stars: It's a good tool, however UX/UI still lacks a bit.
- 4 stars: It's a great tool, and UX/UI are satisfactory.
- 5 stars: I have an hard time finding cons for this tool.
How new tools get on the list
Anyone can recommend me a tool, but it will make it to the list only if I've used it for at least a few weeks and has entered my daily workflow. This means that I've considered it good enough to be rated according to the above mentioned criteria.
Referral links
Some of the tools listed offer referral links. If you use them, I might receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps support the maintenance and development of my directory.
In no occasion the ability to use a referral link affects my choice of tools to display.
